Richard Birt - Chief Decision Scientist

As a leader in big data, predictive analytics, database marketing, mobile marketing and social media over a three decade period, Richard has worked with over 500 clients and is responsible for many industry firsts in each discipline.

While getting a MBA at Claremont Graduate School, Richard co-developed the FICO Score in 1979. Today, FICO is the universal standard for assigning credit risk. He was soon recruited to TRW Credit (now Experian), where he had many modeling firsts, including response, cross-sell and attrition models. Richard also pioneered the use of clustering technologies to optimize media buying at the Times Mirror, FCB, KSL Media and Palisades Media.

Richard is an expert at database marketing and marketing automation, and was the lead sales consultant for Acxiom, Siebel Systems and SAS Institute in developing their global CRM and Marketing Automation practices. In 2004, he put the first ever Corporate Friends Site on Facebook and recently won Adweek’s 2011 Media Plan of the Year for Newegg.com.
